Casa del Herrero is one of only four National Historic Landmarks in Santa Barbara, standing proudly with the Court House and the Mission Santa Barbara.  Our unique collection of antique tiles, artworks, and furnishings, as well as our lovely gardens and singular blacksmith's shop, all require special care and pose significant challenges in the stewardship of the Casa.  Our mission to preserve the entire Casa estate in its full grace and beauty relies on the support of our community and those who embrace and believe in the importance of our cultural history.

Contributions from believers like you sustain the wholeness of the Casa and enable us to pass on a touchstone of our cultural heritage to future generations.

Thank you for your vision and generosity.

The Casa del Herrero, built by acclaimed architect George Washington Smith in 1925, is considered one of the best examples of Spanish Colonial Revival Architecture with a rare degree of authenticity and integrity. The Casa’s exceptional antiques, tiles, and European decorative arts alone are enchanting, not to mention its breathtaking gardens. The Casa presents an opportunity to turn back the clock and see the Montecito lifestyle of the 1930’s in all its glory.

Stewardship and preservation of such a special cultural gem as the Casa is an immense task. We hope you will join us in our efforts to raise the resources needed to maintain this beautiful estate. Please consider becoming a Casa Angel, with a donation in any amount. Your support helps us ensure the legacy of Casa del Herrero for generations to come.
