Casa del Herrero’s eleven-acre estate is open to the public for Docent-led tours for adults and children age 10 and above. Public tours may be reserved on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Trained Docents interpret the history of the Steedman home, gardens, and workshop during the tours which last approximately 90 minutes. Non-refundable admission is $25 per person and payment is due at the time of reservation. For information or reservations, call us at 805-565-5653 or contact us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Groups of twelve or more may book reservations Tuesday through Saturday year-round. Tour times are 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Reservations are booked in advance, and a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve the date. The final balance is due 30 days prior to the tour date. Both the deposit and final payment are non-refundable. Visa & MasterCard, cash or check are accepted forms of payment. Due to our Conditional Use Permit, we are unable to accommodate large buses. Mini-coaches (capacity of 24 or fewer) are acceptable. Guests are encouraged to carpool whenever possible due to our extremely limited parking (maximum of 10 cars). For more specific Group Tour information, please contact email@example.com or call 805-565-5653, ext. 202.
Self-Guided Tours, No-no!
Casa del Herrero does not offer a self-guided tour option. However, if you prefer a tour customized to your individual interests, you may arrange for a private tour. The cost of a private tour is a flat fee of $300 and is limited to 12 people. Please call the office to arrange a mutually agreeable time, allowing 1 week advance notice for scheduling.
In Casa del Herrero tradition, a limited number of Holiday Tours are offered during the month of December. Visiting the Casa when it is all dressed and ready for the festive season is a wonderful way to don the holiday spirit. Visitors are invited to enjoy a cup of hot spiced cider as they tour the gardens and have a glimpse of how a Montecito Christmas in the 1930’s might have looked. For information on booking a Holiday Tour, please call our office at 805-565-5653, ext. 202.
To schedule a tour or request a brochure, please call the Casa office at 805-565-5653, Monday through Saturday, between the hours of 9 AM & 5 PM.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ADVANCE RESERVATIONS ARE NECESSARY FOR ALL TOURS, including all levels of membership admission. Casa del Herrero accepts payment in the form of MasterCard or Visa at the time of booking. Confirmation will be emailed prior to your scheduled tour with information, a map and directions. Admission fees are nonrefundable. However, if you must cancel your tour, the Casa will give you a rain check, so long as it's within the calendar year and you gave the Visitor & Volunteer Coordinator at least 24 hours advance notice. Casa Members are given priority booking subject to our Conditional Use Permit. See our Membership Page for additional benefits of becoming a member.
