Get a taste of history inside the Steedman Cellar of Casa del Herrero. Our newest viniculture programming takes place inside the prohibition-era winemaking room that our founder, George Fox Steedman, considered his second favorite hobby.

Attendees will learn about the estate and the history of winemaking at Casa del Herrero, walking through George Fox Steedman’s thought process, step-by-step.

Afterwards, you will enjoy a wine blending demonstration to learn how and why different wine varieties are often combined to create unique and exciting wine flavors. We will include a rundown of wine tasting tips and an overview of the unique grapes used in the blends. Then the fun begins! You will work in groups of 2 or 3 to put your new wine knowledge to the test by creating and sampling different wine blends that are custom tailored to your own palate.

While you won't take a bottle of wine away from the experience, you WILL sample wines during the program. The hands-on workshop will help build your confidence as you learn to articulate the tasting notes and different components of wine and maybe even find some new favorites along the way.
