Casa del Herrero Welcomes Isabel Osio Wendt to Board of Trustees

SANTA BARBARA, California, Sept. 4, 2024 - Casa del Herrero has announced the appointment of Isabel Osio Wendt to its Board of Trustees. Wendt, a retired engineer, brings decades of experience in aerospace, space, automotive, and medical robotics industries, along with a strong background in program management.

Wendt’s career includes roles at companies such as Raytheon, Intuitive Surgical/Computer Motion and Rockwell International, where she managed large engineering teams and multi-million-dollar programs, including work on F-16 and F-18 aircraft systems and Space Station Freedom. Her expertise in overseeing complex projects and budgets, combined with her leadership skills, will be instrumental as Casa del Herrero moves forward into its centennial celebration in 2025.

In addition to her professional experience, Wendt is an active volunteer in Santa Barbara. She has served on the executive committee of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art Women’s Board, including as president from June 2023 to June 2024. Under her leadership, the organization raised significant funds for the museum. Her dedication to community service aligns with Casa del Herrero’s mission of preserving and sharing its historical legacy.

Wendt holds a master’s degree in physics from California State University, Northridge, and a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Now retired from engineering, she is focused on supporting non-profit organizations in the Santa Barbara area.
